UBP MP Dr. Ahmet Savaşan emphasized that with the victory of UBP candidate Ali Başman in the by-election to be held tomorrow, the number of UBP deputies in the Parliament will increase to 25 and the calls for early elections will disappear. Stating that with the strengthening of political stability in the TRNC, ’a new period of execution“ will begin, Savaşan pointed out that after Başman's victory, the repeated calls for early elections will end and the opposition will have to make evaluations based on the executions.

UBP Nicosia MP Ahmet Savaşan, stating that the UBP's victory in the by-election will also affect the behavior of the opposition, “Ali Basman’s victory, the opposition will have to stop calling for early elections and evaluate the government's actions, whether it wants to or not. Instead of calling for early elections every day, it will have to evaluate, criticize or contribute to the UBP's actions or bills. Ali Basman’s victory will return the opposition to a real and socially useful position, CTP’s real mission,” he said.
